New Zealand Postal Stationery Cards

This website is dedicated to cataloguing the private printing of New Zealand Postal Stationery Cards from Queen Victoria to Queen Elizabeth II

Since New Zealand introduced it’s first postal stationery postcard in 1876 a variety of businesses, individuals and societies have utilised them by privately printing them with their own messages.

It was possible to have cards specially printed, known as Printed to Private Order (PTPO), by the Government Printer for a premium. These PTPO cards have previously been recorded and as they were officially produced by the Post Office. Less attention has been paid to the Privately Printed postcards, where groups took standard postal stationery postcards and had them printed for their own use. This website is dedicated to cataloguing these cards, as well as associated items, such as non-stationery privately printed postcards, lettercards and the Official postcards printed by the Government.

This website has been produced following discussions with and ideas from members of the New Zealand Society of Great Britain (NZSGB website). For anybody interested in the stamps and postal history of New Zealand membership is highly recommended.

Unless otherwise recorded all items are the property of the author.
