Kempthorne, Prosser & Co.

First established in 1870, Kempthorne Prosser & Co was New Zealand’s leading drug and fertiliser manufacturer until they exited the market in 1978.  The company operated four large chemical works as well as a number of offices and warehouses across New Zealand.

Notes: The only recorded example. In his 1988 catalogue R. D. Samuel noted that a printing of ½d cards was undertaken in 1908, though none had been seen. This example is the discovery example and the only one currently recorded.
