New Zealand Sheep Breeders’ Association

The New Zealand Sheep Breeders’ Association was established in 1894 to allow the tracking of pure bred flocks and rams.  To this end a Flock Book was established and in order for a flock to be entered a farmer was required to prove the pedigree of his flock back to 1880. Over the years the association has seen the introduction of different breeds into New Zealand and is still active to this day.
